Pride of America Hawaii Cruise Flip HD Ultra Test

I shot this video of me and my wife's vacation cruising the Hawaiian Islands with a Flip Ultra HD, edited with Sony Vegas Pro. The cruise was awesome. It was Jayne's first time on a cruise and we had a great time watching the waves, playing in the sun, and enjoying each other's company. The Napali coast was beautiful.

The Flip Ultra HD is a pretty interesting camera. Amazing quality from such a tiny thing. Very inexpensive too. Really have to concentrate on smooth and steady, but it can be done.

Aloha, Thanks for the kind words! The major advise is to really move the camera slow and steady. With such a dinky camera any shakes or wobbles or quick moves are exaggerated. In Sony Vegas Pro, I used color correction with the Welcome to Oz preset. That's about it.

That was a flip? Awesome quality. Depth of field amazing. Can understand why Dennis Kamakahi wrote Koke`e -- he was looking from up high when he wrote it. You go to Maui Ocean Center? Was all handheld or did you use a tripod?

Thanks Sistah! Yup, all done with a flippy. And you nailed it, Maui Ocean Center. I am eagerly awaiting arrival of a GoPro HD Surf Cam. I can attach it to Jayne's board when she surfs and take it diving up to 180 feet deep or attach it to my car for some cool footage. I"m like a little kid before Christmas!
