It was amazing that this movie didn't end up with the "Alan Smithee" credit, as the writer/director Jeffrey Bloom totally disowned the final version that was released to theaters. Well, and pretty much everyone involved with the movie was unhappy with the finished product, and the end result (i.e. bad reviews and bad box office performance) was inevitable.

They left out the main themes of the book. Incest is likely when you separate opposites sexes from the rest of the world..especially children like they were. I don't agree with them taking the relationship of the siblings out of the movie.

so this is ture ? where they r now

@smilitu really? They didn't put Chris and Cathy's love interest in the story? I just read the book and just discovered there was a movie. Chris and Cathy's romance was one of the biggest parts of the story! o:< Now I don't feel like watching the movie, eh...

Aw Chris is so positive, Love him. Powerful story - this book is literally the only one I've started reading and carried on genuinely wanting to find out what happened - so it must be good! 10/10 for the book, 5/10 for the film.

they r doing a remake of the movie, i dont know whne but i know its soon. THE book is WAYYYYYYY better then the movie anyway.

If you want to see an ever greater F'd up family read all of the book series! lololol!!
This movie is nothing like the book. Its not as intense or as truthful to the story as the book [of course] was. [duh, its the book]. They didn't put any of what "happened between" Chris and Cathy in the movie, so I think thats stupid to leave it out.
