Perhaps it's been said before (I'm not gonna read all the earlier comments and reactions, sorry) but doesn't anybody hear that in the second refrain he doesn't sing "don't you know your life itself" but "don't you know your life, it's hell" ??? I've always found this slight alteration in the lyrics fascinatingly characteristic for life (and love) itself... Not a big thing maybe, but this lyrical detail changed the song for me from "nice" to "magnificent".
