One of the shorter-lived doll lines of the 80s, Lady Lovely Locks had "Pixietails", little birds and animals with long colored tails that you could clip into her hair. I saw this commercial as an 8-year-old in late 1987, and remembered it almost verbatim, but was not to see it again for 20 years...

gosh, what happened to all the great toys for girls they used to have?! i had so many dolls from this series and now as a mother, all they have is bratz and hannah montana. bummer! :(

*sniffs* Oh man I feel so old now that I watch this! I remember having the doll in the blue dress. Seriously why can't little girls nowadays have wonderful dolls like this instead of the crappy excuses for dolls that exist now? *cough* Bratz*cough*

So that's what hose clips with the hair on them are from. I don't know where the doll is though she's probably gone now knowing how many toys we gave away before we moved.

Yes, they said "maid", but that just means young girl (or virgin) - it doesn't imply any kind of title. They probably just put it there to rime with "braids".

You wouldn't believe how much of this commercial stuck in my head and remained in my memory for 20 years until I found it again. I remember another one, which I saw maybe the following spring, for an "Enchanted Island Lady Lovely Locks".
