OMG! What an incredible talent! Of course, Glen is from Arkansas. This is where our Ozark, bluegrass music comes from - our Scottish-Irish heritage. Ever notice how easily a Southern accent converts to an English or Irish accent? This music touches me to my very soul! My Irish grandmother would sing out loud as could be whenever it hit her. We have carried our love of music through the generations. Check out my son on My Space - Ryker James - singer/songwriter, plays all instruments. Will enjoy!

I wonder if anybody else hears Appalachian folk and gospel music in this. I always thought so when Paul did it, but with Glen Cambell doing it, it becomes even more obvious. It makes sense because Appalachian people are mostly Scotch-Irish. I just find it fascinating to hear the music from which ours mutated.

Thank you for the history lesson. I never realized that Arkansas has Scottish and Irish roots. I'm from Nova Scotia on the east coast of Canada and many of our ancestors are of Scottish desent and Keltic music is a big part of our musical heritage here. Mull of Kintyre is like an anthem here :) You should visit our province some day. Many people compare Cape Breton's landscape to Scotland's.

He was so talented. He now has early stage Alzheimer’s, but he's still performing with the help of a teleprompter. God Bless him.
