This was typical for the time. The Yardbirds did a "milkshake" commercial around this time, too!
I don't necessarily consider this 'selling out" because sometimes these bands used their coolest riffs for these ads in the 60s.
By the way, the announcer guy at the end sounded like Morgan Freeman (I could see him "diggin' the Fudge" back in the day!)

It really is hard not to feel more fondly of Coke in the light of this musical awesomeness. Damn it, advertizing works!

Beck on guitar.

Voice Over by Bill "Rosko" Mercer

You could have "Things go better with Coca Cola" in the 60ies from Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich or The Supremes, too.

you gotta love the comitment of these guys! They'll play just as hard for Led Zeppelin or Ed Sullivan as they will for Coca Cola! Yeah, Carmine--beat them drums for Coke!

Bands had to make a living too. If a movie star does a commercial for a product, why not a rock group. Nobody says a word when Kenny Chesney or Metallica has a big Pepsi, Dr, Pepper or Snickers sign behind them on stage. It's called sponsors that help pay your way.

Canned Heat did a Levi's commercial.

The voice over can be taken so many ways wrong! Funny stuff anyway. Like when Paul Revere & the Raiders did a Pontiac commercial.
I'm surprised it wasn't a ten-minute
commercial. (Just kidding - I always loved the Fudge.)
