On April 20, 2008, the Mt.Pleasant Chorale and the Iowa Wesleyan College Choir Joined together at the First United Methodist Church in Mt.Pleasant, Iowa to perform Maurice Durufle's (1902 1986) "Requiem" under the conductorship of Dr. Jamie Spillane. Soloists included Margaret Clair and Dr. Tim Ahern. Harp, pipe organ, and orchestra accompanied them.
Also performed was "Zadok the Priest" by George Frederick Handel (1685-1759) and "Shout Glory" by Byron Smith with Zach Reiter-baritone; Kaylee Nelson-alto Jerry Lalaga-piano; Mallory Ensminger-bass.
Broad Street Connection performed "More Than a Paycheck" by Ysaye Barnwell.
The Iowa Wesleyan College Choir performed "It Takes a Village" by Joan Szymko, with Adam Miller, Jake Pilger, Kereti Samoa, Kayleigh Septer, and Hailey Workman as soloists, "Hark! I Hear the Harps Eternal" by Alice Parker with Priscilla Marlar as soloist.

In paradisum) is an antiphon from the traditional Latin liturgy of the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass. It is sung by the choir as the body is being taken out of the church.
May angels lead you into paradise; upon your arrival, may the martyrs receive you and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem. May the ranks of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, the poor man, may you have eternal rest.
