TORONTO - A union official says the opening of 19 temporary dump sites in Toronto signals that the city is preparing for a long strike.
Here is one of the dumps in Earlscourt Park.

Dusk Dances, now in its 15th season, is an outdoor dance festival that brings contemporary and traditional dance to public parks.
As dusk descends, a theatrical host leads the audience to five eclectic dance pieces that unfold in different areas of a park.
Choreographers from various styles and backgrounds are commissioned to create a ten-minute piece inspired by the park's natural environment.

  • michaelmusica - Where is the fairness? Give me a break. No one told these people that they had to be garbage handlers. It's not an easy job? Please. I work on average 80 hours a week to make a little more than what these lazy fucks make. If I asked my employer about banking sick days they'd laugh in my face... and they should. Seeing as how I help pay these assholes through my taxes I say fuck em. They don't want to work? Fine. Let's find people who will gladly for less. Privatize now.

  • Get rid of the useless Mayor and his cohorts who have brought this madness on Toronto.

Correct, many years I took none. I work in construction as an estimator, a non-union firm.

When we did bid on a job for the city and where obliged to carry union trades we'd add a 30% escalator due to the lack of productivity. By the way I know all about the history of unions, but it's devolved into a cheap excuse not to work.

  • @neorunt How is that possible? That means you took less than one sick day a year. If you said 30 or 35 in the last 30 years that would make more sense.

  • I remember the smell. Wooooow. You could only get so close to the mountains of garbage bags and you had to turn back. All this happened during summer of course, hot and humid.

Disgraceful. Toronto a 1st class city? Maybe one day, maybe.

  • that disgusting.....that happened here in nyc along time ago...never happened again...believe it or not working for the DSNY is one of the best jobsi n the city...real good pay tons of over time great benefits .....i think NYC is probly the onli place in the world where the waiting list to be a garbage man is years long..

  • i live in toronto it was horrible.......racoons and mice were everywhere

  • Maybe it's about time to grow fruits, vegetables in a greenhouse environment so you don't have your ridiculous problem?

  • Lol was that even an insult

  • fuck asshole city workers - trash eating stinkbags

p.s. city life (wherever the fuck you live) is identical to The Simpsons - THAT is why it is such a successful show.

so off topic here, but anyone who think The Simpsons "sucks" can SUCK my nuts, and choke on my fucking pubes.

simply because, your fucking lives ARE "The Simpsons" - and this City Strike proves it.

    have a nice day!

  • well guess what idont have to shut up
