These rights and music are not mine and in no way do I claim them.

This song pulls at my heart strings and really means a lot to me. I hope you'll enjoy my interpretation...feedback is appreciated :)

  • This isn't sign language. This is like, interpretive dancing... with your fingers.

  • @JayDubxProductions "Conversation" sign language and signing a song are two different things. A person cannot sign word for word a song because a lot of times it won't make sense for a person who is Deaf. For example, "i'm runnin for president" and "i'm running down the street"...there's only 1 sign for running..if you sign i'm running for president like a person who is Deaf will think you are runnin AT the president. therefore, with songs it's more about interpretting it than signing words

  • You did a great job, that's a very pretty song

  • @sweetfrenzy27 thank you so much :)

  • It looks like she's doing some furious finger dance

  • @actingdeaf You're wrong, I hate to say.

You're right in the fact that yes... 'Running for' and 'running' the action are two different things. But the Deaf community has already dealt with this with ASL. Please, go and watch some deaf entertainers and deaf individuals who actually sign lyrics. Professionals, not ones here on Youtube. They use actual signs. They use signs that mean what they are trying to say. i.e. Saying 'Christ is Risen' would be... 'Christ - resurrected' in ASL.

  • There are different signs for running. I posted this song myself and there are still some parts of this that I don't understand. I'm not trying to be rude, just putting it out there.(:

  • @actingdeaf I beg to differ. There are various ways to sign the word "Run." Know your history before you state facts that you know nothing about.

  • love the effect of the fan blowing your hair! This is gorgeous!

  • I loved it! I've been thinking about how I'd sign this for a while and you captured it beautifully. :)

  • @JayDubxProductions I can totally see you're point, but ASL only has one sign for running, English only has one word for running. So when someone says "I'm running for President" I know from the context what sense running is being used. But it might explain why everytime I tell my deaf friend "I'm running for President" he looks confused. Here I was thinking he was just being unsupportive, I never realised I should view him as being a bit slow on the uptake. I'm sure you have a better example...

  • It was a lovely signing interpreation of the song. I was a Deaf Studies major in collge & am fluent in ASL. Ironically, 12 years later I became deaf do to illness. Watching this using my signing skills only, I can see how someone Deaf with ASL being their first language, may not understand parts of it (as @actingdeaf posted about her husband), but since I was hearing most of my life and am latened deaf, & know the song, I got it.

  • @JayDubxProductions ASL is a different language, not english. It is not word for word. Signs represent concepts, and ideas. It is not "Interpretive dancing".

  • Wow... great job
