Late Friday afternoon traffic was moving slow on I-75 in Toledo after a semi driver lost his load in the northbound lanes, police said.
The semi driver slammed on his brakes when two cars attempted to merge into the same lane the semi was driving in. The jolt caused the semi to lose a load of steel coils.
The accident took place at around 4:30 p.m. under the West Delaware Avenue overpass on I-75.
Other vehicles in the southbound lane were damaged when they made contact with the steel rolls. Several motorists suffered minor injuries as a result.
Police said the semi driver was cited for failure to maintain his load.
