In streets where there are relatively fewer cars at night, it is energy-wasting lighting up all street stamps yet unsafe to turn off all of them. To solve this problem in consideration of both energy-saving and driving safety, we come up with our plan Our idea works in this way: all the road lamps are turned off when there is no car on the road. Once a car comes, Street lamps in adjacent areas will be turned on successively, which is just enough to light up the road in the sight of the driver, and tuned off one by one when the car passes by. The system is designed to automatically detect the car's location with pressure transducer networks. The detected signal will be transmitted to the controllers, which can accordingly switch On street lights when vehicles approaches and turn off lights when cars leave the area. Our systems have three strengths. Firstly, it is energy-saving and environmentally-friendly. This system adequately fulfills the needs of ensuring safety, meanwhile efficiently avoids unnecessary energy consumption. Secondly, it is intelligent. The whole system works on its own. No manual operation is needed throughout this process. Lastly, we adopt pressure transducer networks, which is reliable, well developed and relatively cheaper.
