When an 0861 deploys it is usually attached to an infantry company as part of a fire support team unless they are in anglico. Then they can deploy as their own team. The only 0844s in infantry is one per weapons company working the 81s mortar FDC. usually a staff or gunnery sergeant.

@5694NR currently most 0861 and 0844's are embedded with infantry units on patrols but if god likes you you will actually be doing your job
