01:37 check out the greek antiquities which were violently torn from the temples frieze by workers of Lord Elgin in 1802 when Greece was under Turkish occupation. At that time Lord Elgin was the British ambassador to the Ottoman Empire. By giving money and other gifts to the turkish authorities he gained permission to use giant saws and other tools to tear from the temple (causing terrible damage to the edifice) half of the sculptures from the temple frieze.
