Riverfront Celebration 2010 - Part 9-10 - Amelie Rousseau

Amelie Rousseau, ASUO student body President Elect speaking at the ConnectingEugene and ASUO 2010 Riverfront Celebration, April 24, 2010. The event was intended to raise awareness of the University of Oregon's Plans to develop a suburban-style private office complex on the Willamette Riverfront adjacent to the university campus. The plans to construct the first building and 200-car parking lot directly on the riverfront are pressing, with the prospective tenant, Oregon Research Institute, failing to uphold their democratic principles in the process. The Eugene and university communities have been opposed to this development plan since before it was approved in 1989.
