The congressmen........Mr. Garbage....is a pompous clown. Not unlike most democrat congressmen.

That congressman really thinks he's special. I don't think I have ever seen a greater display of arrogance by a politician.

4,000 miles away from frozen wasteland, Brinkley is not part of the Arctic community. His agenda is at odds with those residents. We must & will vigorously develop renewables, but only an ass would choose to cripple the economy first w/ higher energy costs to fund the necessary research. Just like many so called "educated", Brinkley thinks he knows what's best for all people. Hard to respect anyone suckling on the electric grid, driving cars,& bitching, while Inuit survive on blubber 6 \mos/yr

he is a jerk, but he is right. we need to drill

the chick behind him could use some dick

@jboze3131 Wow, selective hearing? Read all the comments Jboze3131. Then decide who has selective hearing, 99% who see the Congressman as a bully, or you, the 1%, who see the guy trying to testify and answer the questions to be at fault. Who cares which party he belongs to. A bully is a bully. And a bully in a position of power who tells others to shut up (or worse) is a dangerous thing.

So typical of the arrogance of this ignorant Congressman. Are Alaskan's paying attention. Please, please, elect a replacement. Do yourself proud--send this guy into Retirement. (BTY, he needs to be checked for Alzheimer's...seriously).

Further, Young's claims that the land is "desolate" and "empty" and so it would be all right to dump oil all over it are ridiculous and yet another example of Republicans’ ignorance of the delicacy of ecosystems. This “empty land” trope was the same one the government used to justify testing the nuclear bombs in the deserts of southern Nevada and northern New Mexico – yet, as we all know, there is no such thing as an “empty” or “desolate” space on the earth.
-
Young's criticisms are little more than the typical know-nothing anti-intellectual rhetoric and name-calling ("Well, you're an elitist, so when you go to the wildlife reserve, it's just not the same as when I go to the wildlife reserve!") that we've come to expect from Republicans. He’s obviously starting from an assumption that profit and money come before environmental protection.

This looks more like a dictatorlike high school classroom than a congressional setting.. From the supremely rude Mr. Young to Hastings, who just continues to reprimand Brinkley and even smiles when Young starts complaining. Even the girl in back...her body language and expressions just scream that of a teenagers. The only one that comes out ok is Brinkley.
Typical, arrogant, piece-of-shit congressman. who has wet dreams each night that he's a powerful tyrant.
