The ref should have put them back in centre. It wasnt fair to have melvins head out of the ropes like that. Had it been a jap fighter, the ref would have centrered them back.

Having his head out of the ropes made it harder for Tatsuya to hit him, it was working in Melvin's favour, the corner pad was slightly protecting his face. Also the rope would have also absorbed some of the punch power.
I think the bias from the ref was for not penalising Tatsuya for kneeing to the back of the head.
They're not racist, just a little biased.
