he found his buddy

Your fish is chill.
-
say you were to build an open bottom aquarium using this... if the power went out on the pump, would the water flood out of the bottom tank, or would the suction hold?
-
nice idea to build a bottomless aquarium, when the air is completely evacuated the aquarium it looks like a transparent solid construction, but fishes moving free inside, great look
-
can this be done with two different sized tanks e.g a 240L and a 60L
-
Nice. I've added a small article about your method to the The Aquarium Wiki Encyclopaedia - see 'Romaurie Effect'. :-)

No. In fact you can "suck" the air out by tube and as long as the lower tank level doesn't drop below the entry level of the inverted aquarium, the water stays in.

As water finds its own level, as long as the entrances are covered by water, any combination of aquarium size could be constructed.I've toyed with the idea of making a "crossover" connection to link 4 aquariums.I'm searching for a reasonable price for the laser cutting.

The Scat [Eric the Scat] out grew this set-up 3 years ago so he now lives in the larger inverted aqurium.
Tried some mollies in the tunnel and its working out very well with the babies being able to avoid the adults by swimming into the tunnel.

You need some plecos.

I used to keep 2 plecos in this tank, but when they out-grew it I transfered them to the cuboid inverted tank. Good idea, maybe I'll get some small ones for this.
