Visualization of measurement data is a key element of nearly every LabVIEW application. In many cases, measurement data is most easily understood when graphed on two dimensional (2D) or three dimensional (3D) plots. While LabVIEW has had common 2D and 3D plotting capabilities for many years, it lacked many specific types of 2D and 3D plots found in scientific and engineering applications, which required users to perform the additional work to customize the existing plots to suit their purposes. With the release of LabVIEW 2009, LabVIEW now has eighteen new types of plots available to users with no additional programming required.
