BOOZE DESIGN & INSTINCT: MEKANIX (2010)
Code: Dane/BD, HCL/BD, JackAsser/Instinct
Music: Dane/BD, RaveGuru/Instinct
GFX: Archmage/Instinct
Capture & x264 encode from a real C64 by Lemming/FIG
Now digitized from a pimped C64-breadbox with a superb 1984 VIC with brilliant colors, a 1985 motherboard with excellent soldering/construction and my original SID 6581R2 03/1983 for sounds. As previously, expanded with buit-in svideo, chroma enchanced with a 300ohm resitor and SID 'noise fixed' with 1nF capacitor from ext-in to gnd (Grue-method).
I hate emulators. Do you? If so, keep your eyes open for more digitized C64, C16 & VIC-20 delight from yours truly.
*FEATURING NEW AND IMPROVED FIELD MATCHING ALGORITHM!*
Greetings to suomiscene + everyone on the C64-scene and CSDB!
the demo is really classy. music sounds shitty here as it's written for new 8580 r5 sid ;]

@jci10 Interesting facts jc10, but are they? 640x200x4 I agree, but the rest I haven't seen, so it would be really cool if you could point towards a resource where I can!

@vapourmile Now, now. Get your facts right. 1984 Amiga Workbench V1.00 booted into 640x200x4 colors. Those of us doing Desktop publishing would routine use 640x400x16 colors and even in 1986 there were hacks that pushed the Amiga1000 to do 768x480x16 colors. Even the 1986 Music Program Deluxe Music Construction Kit ran in 640x200x16 colors and the 1987 Newtek Paint program was almost always utilized with 320x400x4096 colors.

I wonder how it has become that the names of those three men are unheard of outside the industry when compared to Jack Tramiel and Jay Miner? I've said it before: People may think the 64 is underpowered next to the Amiga, but don't underestimate it, the 64 is sharp and fierce. For all intents and purposes the Amiga was a 320x256 system with 16 colour screens, since that's what real-world programs actually used.

So, the Commodore 64 demo... possibly the purest form of program design marches on, and the Commodore 64 continues to be the clever blank canvas onto which clever wizzkids paint their digital dreams and evermore new techniques. The one time biggest selling computer system in history, today is the longest surviving, now approaching it's thirtieth year in active service. The craft and genius that Albert Charpentier, Robert Yannes and Charles Winterable's computer design has inspired!
