Phone companies have been sneaky snakes with their loophole lawyers and fine print gotchas for far too long. Sick of feeling like you've been suckered just because your cellphone contract has a few too many unreasonable clauses that favor your phone company's needs over your own? Here are some ways you can shed your cellphone plan for something more agreeable to your pocketbook (and dignity).
As soon as the contract is expired it really is very easy to switch here in Austria because every carrier uses the same 2G and 3G bands and you can even take your phone number to the next provider.
in Iowa $45 A month unlimited Talk, Texts, Yes unlimited data for web, Free and unlimited 411 calls and i have a Samsung Galaxy S-II UNLOCKED with my trusty sim card on a prepaid network
I am very happy with mine, I live in the UK and pay £15 per month and get unlimited internet & tethering, 3000 mins and 3000 texts. Couldnt be happier. What do u guys in the US pay then?
I never use contract phones, I just buy them with out a contract and use pay as you go sim cards or micro sims for the iphone because I get carried away and end up with a huge bill and on top of it carriers are now offering pretty much the same deals as contract, of course you have to top up in order to get your monthly allowance but you dont HAVE TO so i find this is the best way to go, minus the hassle of topping up that takes a few seconds online
pre-paid is the way to go!

My mom suggested that I ditch the data plan on my iPhone. I keep telling her that it's not an option.
