No the plane crashed in Ampuria Brava later that year maybe 2004 can't remember, it happend as the Skyvan was coming in to land and had to avoid a jumper. It is mentioned in a book called Freefall by Tom Read (Nish Bruce) ex Red Devils and SAS it is a very good book.
