It's not O&A that has lost its edge, it's the management that has lost its understanding of radio and its audience. You do what you can nowadays to push the envelope in radio without getting yourself fired, and truth of the matter, much of the WNEW days would be grounds for a firing in this era.

Of course not everything is management's fault. But I'm willing to be the great majority of it is. After all, they couldn't even do the hairiest ass contest. There isn't much to do when even something as unoffensive as that is disallowed.

Well what are they supposed to do? Quitting would only serve to benefit the company (More money for the management). They've been arguing for the show both on-air and off (On-air bitching probably something corporate dislikes, so there's your lack of complacency).
