omg frigin hell some of you guys know ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING about the greyhound racing industry...first of all my family is involved in the industry and we own them as well and they do not get fed cheap shit meat they get fed the same meat we eat...they love running and racing and thats what they were bred to do...and there is such thing as the GAP program that adopts greyhounds trust me we have put some of ours up for adoption gave them a second life...Majority of people love these dogs...

i agree that the industry is pretty cruel to the dogs in general, but also alot of them are kept well, banning racing is not the answer, just make sure that they are kept well, and when they are retired they can go to working or pet homes where they will be looked after, if coursing was still allowed plenty more greyhounds in britain would be adopted and used for that purpose, becuase as a dog gets older and slower its prey drive becomes less important and it developes prey sense...just as good.

not every country is like america when it comes to greyhound, from what ive heard in australia they have the best tracks and kennel estabilishments.

Our dogs are happy healthy playful creatures who are respected by us. I agree that the industry has it's fair share of bad types but your generalisation is not warranted. As a society there is animal cruelty everywhere whether it be a greyhound person or a neglectful pet owner.
By the way our black dog Bobby (Big Saverio) had his first when yesterday. Go Sav!!!

nattyisadeadshit who is ignorant and knows nothing about the industry! Yes they are sweet dogs, I have them. Greyhounds love racing! You are highly up your own ass when you say they are beaten and then killed - get a grip looser. They have a lovely life and retire to lovely homes, mostly on the couches! I can think of REAL creulty in most other breeds and puppy farmers!!!

These dogs love to run, like all dogs!! Doesn't everyone throw a tennis ball around with there pets? Don't your pets go berserk when you pull out a ball, it's the same principle for greyhounds chasing.
Some will tarnish the industry through cruelty but it's directly proportional to the general public's minority group of abusive and cruel treatment to all types of animals.
