@jayespeaks, I stayed at the Lackawanna Radisson with my family some years ago (and bought a good deal of railroad knick-knacks), and also had the opportunity to ride on and see the trains at Steamtown. I have heard that Steamtown does three-hour round trip excursions on certain days, but I have not had the chance to ride on that particular excursion. My love of trains started when my grandmother took me on the Strasburg RR, and even though I'm 23 now, I still have a deep passion for trains.

A .50 caliber Barrett field weapon would do a nice job of taking this garbage out of service!

My boys (4,7) love steam engines and we took them on a trip to Scranton to visit the National Steam Museum mainly to see the Big Boy. It was a great trip and we got to see a lot of steam engines, however I wish the steam engine ride at the museum could be a full circle ride whereas when we went it was a forward and reverse ride down a short run of track. Additionally a stay at the Lackawanna Hotel is historically train related as well.

I can see why they take care of their Engines;
If they bust a part, they can't buy it; they have to make it, and metal costs money!
