@jamesgott300zx most people cut the wire as close to the hook as possible and the hook will rust away and fall out.

We usually use pliers and it does the job just fine. One of us holds the head down steady, the other removes the hook. However in this case, it was in there good, so we just cut the line off right by the hook. The hooks rust away and fall out of their mouth in about 2-3 weeks time
