I paid $2.40ea, for my 4 hdmi cables and they checkout FINE. Bandwidth up to 340 mhz ( 10.2 Gbps ) Deep colour 10 bit 12bit and 3*16 bit ( 48 bit RGB or YCbCr ) XV colour. 480i to 4k x 2k . Support for TrueHD & DTS -HD . Works with all versions of HDMI. They did test these and they did very well against Monster. Length seems to have an effect so sometimes a better cable may be needed.

First of all stop reading the marketing on the back packaging of your Monster cables.
What you're talking about does not apply to DIGITAL SIGNALS. A digital signal either works or it doesn't. You can't get a better or worse picture/sound from a signal signal, AND THAT'S THE POINT! It's all or nothing.
But then again, a fool and his money are soon parted (sorry if I sounds rude).
