No. I disagree. I find that ending beautiful.
Rain signifies baptism. A fresh start, if you will.
It was obvious Lila and Tom weren't meant to be.
And at the end, when Tom screams and Lila ran away.
It proves how superficial she really is. if she loved him, rain shouldn't
have stopped that wedding. Lauren stayed. And in the end, they are
laughing together happily. The movie was always about them.
Their relationship was chaotic and "fun," and in in the end.
Their love won. That's how I took it.

@mitsukisky and here I thought I was the only one who actually liked the ending. Well-said. =))
Man, this film's soundtrack is probably the sexiest I've heard in a long time. =))

I wonder if the book is as good.

loved the soundtrack, regret buying the dvd

I absolutely adore this film. And I thought the ending was sufficient; like MitsukiSky said, I think the ending showed that in the end, Tom really chose Laura over Lila.

I wish there was more depth to the song instead of the perpetual lyric being sunged ad nauseam.

@KarolLopes1 I guess quite a lot of the relationships in the film were empty and confusing though, so maybe they meant the ending to reflect that? I do agree though, it didn't really conclude!

great soundtrack, shitty movie.

i thought the ending was the most beautiful part of the movie. it was so poetic in its elements. the rain signifying that no matter how much you plan out your life, at the end of the day, its never really in your hands. also, i thought tom's speech about how without words he is nothing, followed by lila asking if she should say it for him is an emblem of their relationship in tits entirety.
