Backstage Crush Chapter 9 pt 2

part two! sorry for the delay, i was at a football game last night (WHATS THE SCORE NOW!?!?) and had to write a paper this morning. i know your jealous. kk storyy!

“Excuse me!” Katie forced her mouth shut and turned to face the departing girl.
“Katie, come on let’s go.” Kevin begged.
“No. You, the girl that just talked to Kevin. Will you come back here a sec!” Katie responded, moving closer to the black-haired teen.
“What?”
“What? Don’t give me that. You have no right to say any of that to Kevin. And honestly I can’t believe you did.”
“Well guess what, I did. So get over it.”
“No, I won’t get over it. Kevin Jonas is just as important to the Jonas Brothers as Nick and Joe. Without him, they wouldn’t exist. There are three brothers in the band, and if you’re a fan, you like all three. Not just one or two.. ALL THREE. Do you hear me?”
“Yeah, when do we get to the part where you stop babbling?”
“When you aggravate me to the extent I punch you in the face. Now listen.” Katie took a step closer so she was inches away from the girl’s face. “I know plenty of people that would be impressed with his autograph. And I know plenty of people that would love to make you miserable for the rest of your life. So why don’t you watch what comes out of your mouth, and watch who you say it to, ‘cause tonight you made a very big mistake.” Katie looked straight into the girl’s eyes, and actually saw her tremble.
“I-I.. Gotta go.” the girl turned and walked as quickly as she could away from Katie and the astounded Kevin. Katie felt a hand on her shoulder, and she turned around.
“Wow.” was all he said.
Katie laughed. “You didn’t think I would let her get away with saying all that, did you?”
“Well... no, actually I did. No one ever sticks up for me.” he started to walk away.
“Wait!” Katie ran to catch up. “Do you mean people have said this to you before?”
“Yeah, countless number of times. Everyone loves Joe and Nick. Not the back-up vocalist.”
“I know of at least one girl that loves the back-up vocalist.” Katie smiled and slid her hand into his.
“You don’t know happy that makes me feel.” Kevin squeezed her hand.
“Some how, I think I do. Kevin, promise me you won’t let those girls get to you. You know that you have fans, and that your brothers would be lost without you. Who cares what a select population of brainless teen-aged girls think.”
“I promise Katie. It hasn’t stopped me yet, and I don’t plan on letting it.”
“That’s my Kevin.”
“My Kevin?”
Katie looked up and smiled, “If that’s okay with you?”
“It’s very okay.” Kevin looked down at the girl standing beside him, as Katie gazed up into his shining eyes. She had could see that Kevin was truly happy, that his heart was happy, and that made her happy. Very happy. She watched as he seemed to be debating something in his head.
“Katie?”
“Yeah Kev?”
