Gifford Children's Choir Of Racine, WI sings Radiohead. This was the first year of the choir. Purchase Radiohead's No Surprises at itunes.apple.com/us/album/no-surprises-cd-2-ep/id17314213 There have been many comments questioning the meaning of the text for the singers. The song is about wanting to get away from a hectic urban life and being willing to accept the environmental impact of living in a place with no alrams and no surprises. "A handshake of carbonmonoxide" is that impact. Many of our students come to us on the "Choice" program and travel quite a ways to be at our wonderful school. Our students had a big scare when tornados came very close to our school. They had to stay "Duck and Covered" for about an hour. I taught this song in response to that.

  • Don't compare it to Radiohead, or the sound quality, just listen to the kids voices

it's eery hearing a bunch of kids singing 'bring down the government'

  • In some small way hearing a bunch of children sing the words "bring down the government" brings joy to my heart!

  • Haha I live in Racine :3 I wish I went to that school. They sing this and Still Alive from Portal.Great job :D

  • There's something so wrong about little kids singing this song, but it's still worth a lul.

  • Ahhhhh i remember singing this i soooo miss chior it was the best!!

  • This is far better for the song than the regina spektor cover was. Having children sing it jjst takes the initial irony of the instrumentation even further. Very good

  • Bravo! To get kids interested in music, let them sing what they know. When i was in school our music teacher let us sing a couple of Beatles songs and they were always sang loudest by all. Radiohead might be a little deep but still this was beautiful!

  • Music teacher win

  • by far one of the most cool things i've seen

  • wow

  • I´d hate to see my kid singing: "I´ll take a quiet life, a handshake of carbon monoxide"

  • why ...? LOVE THE SONG, BUT KIDS SINGING IT
