Your Empire Strikes Back theory sounds great. I think having the villain win in the second film, and the heroes having to fight back in the third would be so refreshing the the superhero film genre. Superheros always win in films, but if they were to be defeated I think audiences would be completely surprised and would die to see Phase 3. After you said that, John, I really hope that's the direction they go in. Either way, can't wait to see what they do with Phase 2.

I dont think Thanos will get defeated in Avengers 2 , they wont do that , trust me. But im just guessing by what im about to say next , but alot of people may be underrestimating the Mandarin ... Just because hes in Iron Man 3 , which is the start of Phase 2 , i think people at this point assume , that hes just a person there putting against iron man , and just to start phase2 offf , ... I think he will be in avengers 2 .

I dont know who is the , toughest villian in these comics , but from what ive been reading , Thanos appears to be the biggest badass out there ..., is there someone worser ??? .who knows , in avengers 2 , they might bring in the Mandarin

I'm wondering if they leave the end of the second movie as a cliff hanger, where maybe you are shown something that the audience will believe to be the truth, but show in the third movie what REALLY happened. I'd like that, or the Empire Strikes Back theory.

i think the "empire strikes back" idea is brilliant! honestly im not too keen on this guardians of the galaxy film, but feige and marvel have proven themselves above and beyond with what they have done so far that i am willing to follow them story wise ANYWHERE! i think they have earned the right to try something different! plus the mere fact they are more interested in getting this stuff right as opposed to just throwing out crap ASAP is proof of why they have been so successful! DC take note!
