The comparison is fair because the HP matches BUT the test track is not. Lap time comparison of the Nürburgring would be more realistic.

Hmm. Not as fair of comparison as it should have been. First; this is the base model vette ($70,000 less than the R8!!!) second, just a mere few thousand more gets the Z51 package with better suspension and brakes, then of course there is the Z06 and lets not forget the ZR1 that would likely be much quicker than the R8 and priced more inline. Finally there is RWD VS AWD, if you are going to compare girp then have the fairness of adding a soft compound tire to the vette! Both are nice but boo

I noticed a huge difference in handling, braking and off the line traction when I ditched the factory supercar runflats on my Z51 and went with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 non runflat tires. I would love to see how this vette would do with the PS2's in this comparison. It would definitely run this course quicker... That audi is impressive though, I take nothing away from it.

why are there idiots saying put a zr1 against the audi v8? the reason why they are comparing these two because they are SIMILAR!!!
-
The is just a Tire test between Pirelli P Zeros and Goodyear Runflat EMTs. Throw some nails out on the track and see if the Audi is still the fastest. Or put Pirelli P Zeros on the Corvette and have a true test of car vs. car. Also what suspension package did the Corvette have. There are 2 upgraded suspensions Z51 and F55 that might have been better suited for this test.

R8 0-60 in 4.6
Corvette in 4.3

@tripleheshy If you would know anything about cars, you would know that skodas are very good cars nowadays. So please..., shut the fuck up.
-
@dhovado Nothing compares to your Skoda LOL!!!
-
@carboumentliagaizka Why not make it electric too?? AWD is for people who are simply too lazy to do the work themself.
-
@WalkerSomerville It sure as hell should for the price you pay. Brilliant observation.
For the price of the new R8, you can get the Zr1 and it would be like you fighting Mike Tyson in his Prime.

This video shows potential R8 buyers were their extra $30k is going. Also note the R8 fits the driver's driving style much better as the R8 it soaks up his mistakes. But that is the exactly point, the extra $30k enables average drivers (driver in video) to pull out maximum performance capabilities of the R8. While the Corvette needs more driving talent to drive on the limit, simila
