This is a video collage that arose from a reaction to the fighting in Gaza and Sderot. It is a juxtaposition of a poem by Rumi about religious tolerance, footage of the bombings in Gaza and Sderot, and old and new footage of Jerusalem holy sites.

Here is the text of the poem:

Move beyond any attachment to
names.
Every war and every conflict between
human beings
has happened because of some
disagreement about names.
It's such an unnecessary foolishness,
because just beyond the arguing
there's a long table of companionship,
set and waiting for us to sit down.
What is praised is one, so the praise is
one too,
many jugs being poured into a huge
basin.
All religions, all this singing, one song.
The differences are just illusion and
vanity.
Sunlight looks slightly different on this
wall than it does on that wall.
and a lot different on this other one,
but it is still one light.
We have borrowed these clothes,
these time-and-space personalities,
from a light,
and when we praise,
we pour them back in.

  • Hamas attacks Israel. Israel defends itself.

If Hamass wouldnt attack Israel, peace would be reigning.

Dont confuse betwen the murderer and the victim

  • not doing that at all. if you watch the video, the poem is not talking about blame or who is the victim and who is the "murderer", but rather the fact that all wars are due to attachment to "names" and are stupid. I can't see how you'd disagree with that. In this case, there is an attachment to names on both sides. Some are attached to the name "Israel" some to the name "Palestine".

  • see second version for a different perspective...

  • the video does show footage from both sides of the conflict. the dark stuff with the subtitles is from a bomb that hit sderot.

  • maybe you're right.

    war is stupid anyway

  • It is still one light !!!!!!

    Good tought.

  • Great Video !!

Rumi for sure was an enlightened soul that had a very close connection to God. His words are timeless and pure wisdom.

Thank you to bring them into this conflict - i hope many will hear and understand them - and act according to them

    greetings

  • The song is beautiful.

I wish the film would show footage from both

    sides of the conflict.

  • Rumi's poem is so to the point... war is foolish!

I have to say that some might have a problem that all the footage of casualties shown here is from one side of the conflict... there is pain and suffering on both sides and it's a good idea to show that.

    Thank you.
