@GeoffonTour Its Osbourne's game, all he does is attack Labour and put no policies forward. Its a sign he doesn't have a clue what he's doing, plus you can't really make sense of what he's talking about when it comes to economics.

Thatcher did not 'sell off the social housing stock'. It was always there to be sold (some were sold as early as 1948). In the 1980s, the working classes became wealthier and the opportunity for them to be bought arose significantly.
The Tories inherited a defunct, near-bankrupt, basket-case economy in 1979 and by 1997 it was the 4th-largest (by GDP) in the world.
