Taken from Strauss' operetta Die Fledermaus, this aria is performed at the palace of Prince Orlofsky. Orlofsky appears to be particularly bored with his company, and explains that should his guests stop drinking with him, he will simply grow bored of them and remove them from the party. In response to anyone asking why he does so he replies "this is just my custom, to each his own taste!".
