Diesel locomotive 42206 shunts a freight train - PoathTV Railroads and Trains in Australia part 3

Interail locomotive 42206 is seen at the Dynon Freight yards (Melbourne) preparing to attach to container wagons delivered earlier in the morning by a QR National (QRN) freight train. Once attached the locomotive shunts the train forward to clear a point (turnout) and then backs the train into a siding so the shipping containers can be unloaded.



Interail is part of QR National railways.

The 422 Class were delivered to their original owners, the New South Wales Government Railways during 1969 & 1970 and. The locomotive has an EMD 16-645E engine and features a drivers cab on both ends of the locomotive, a feature that became common on NSW locomotives for the next 30 years.

Recorded 24/9/09. I spent the morning filming all the shunting operations of 42206, another 12 or so movies to come.

Thank you Michael I have been waiting for these. and surprisingly I saw her working at the old Contrans siding today after departing for Wodonga from Caulfield we called into Dynon for a sticky beak
