The Holland American Legion Band was invited to perform in ceremonies marking the 65th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France. The band presented several performances, playing in Saint Lo, in a cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach and in Carentan. They also performed in Middleburg, the Netherlands and Wassenaar. While in Europe, the band visited the graves of several local soldiers, including Willard G. Leenhouts, and Gilbert Karsten. The American Legion Color Guard accompanied the band.
