Storage for the quilter can be an overwhelming proposition. How and where to store quilt patterns, how to see your quilt design, where to put all of those accessories and notions can drive a quilter crazy.

The biggest and certainly the bulkiest problem is that of storing all of that beautiful quilting fabric. All this week we have been discussing various storage options. Today I am showing you my solution. After much trial and error, I found the fabric storage system that best works for me (when I actually put everything away).

By using clear sweater drawers (I found mine at the Container store) I can protect my fabric, see what I have and display all of that beautiful fabric I have collected.
Sometimes my fabric is stored by color, sometimes by theme and sometimes by project. However I have them sorted, I am able to see what I have available to me. It is all so much better than digging through bins that don't show what I possess.

What are your solutions, or even challenges?

  • Do you have a brand name? I am in Canada and not sure if we have a container store.
