  • Thanks for that. Detail amended. Oddly enough, just this morning I had a look at the credits to find out who it was!

  • @supermullers

yeah he did, it was a nice day though, good funeral and he has been spread were he would have loved, at sea.

  • @stupidrubbish I think it was actually to do with the fact that the BBC weren't willing to pay for new pedestals for new cameras. They had the best ones in the industry, so why change them just because a crap camera doesn't fit them well?

  • RIP Barry Westwood who died 13 July 2011 I think.

  • This is my grandfather, Barry Westwood, i never knew him as the face of Southern Television, or Day by Day or ABC of ABC, but he was a great granddad and a fantastic man. Im sorry to say he passed away less than 2 weeks ago, his funeral was, however full of friends and fond memories.

  • Barry Westwood is the presenter.

  • I notice that ABC, unlike the BBC, don't put a ring on the ped that could rival one of Saturn's. It seems to suggest the BBC were telling porkies about how "big and unwieldy" the Marconi VII was.
