@Samoriah - well, technically I suppose he was of galante era, which was the transitional period between baroque and classical. I don't know about the history of oboe and how far it had developed by the time this was composed, but while I'm agreeing with you I see no reason why it couldn't be played with baroque oboe either since CPE Bach was most certainly acquainted with it.

What the hell is wrong with you guys? CPE Bach wasn't baroque. Why would it be expected to use a baroque oboe?

I believe this was originally written for flute. aka Wq 164

You can hear the metal keys hitting the oboe's wood. That's why this is obviously a modern oboe. Listen to the solo. A Baroque oboe doesn't have metal keys, because it just has holes. And that, everyone, is the main difference that anyone can hear.

@eldoradon2008 Not a baroque oboe, it's easily recognized the sound of a modern oboe, as also the strings.

Dear AfrikiSun, thank you very much for uploading of this video! It is very nice concerto and very good performance. It is usual modern oboe! :))
-
@eldoradon2008 Baroque oboe has another sound, more squeaky and sharp!
-
@eldoradon2008 It is ordinary oboe! Not baroque.

I don´t know.
But I don´t think so cause it is only 'oboe' on the CD folder.
