On Thursday, September 25, Mills hosted a Bomba workshop. Bomba is an Afro-Puerto Rican improvisational dance and song combo where the dancer's accentuates certain moves. The drummer responds to these moves by matching the dancer's rythem and beats. Hector Lugo, Shefali Shah and Ali Luna performed. Lugo instructed Mills students on Bomba singing and percussion while Shah taught the women how to dance with long skirts. This event was a part of Latina Heritage Month.

I haven't done this cultural dance since I was in a Prog. about 17 years ago. I miss skipping with my skirt. I'm gonna start Bomba again.
