  • sitting by the computer, relaxed. Breath held: 2 min. (forced and focused after 1 min 15 sec).

Took 3 breaths to catch my breath. So I suppose my lungcapacity is okay but I've been having this dry cough and slight discomfort in breathing for the past 2 months or so. Mom tells me it's asthma, she herself having it already.

  • @WaddaBilla The Control Pause breath measurement is totally stress free and unforced. Make sure you do the breath hold AFTER a normal out-breath, hold until you feel the need to breathe in, take a gentle breath in through the nose. You should not need any extra breaths to recover. Check out my website at "asthmacarekent" for more information.

  • I have anxiety...what yould you recommend for me to control my breathing?

  • @DannyGuitar12

Maybe you could find some useful ideas in my free book you can download on my website (see above), its entitled "Escape Asthma" but most of the advice is common to many conditions including anxiety attacks .

  • I am asthmatic, I got 15, oh well.

  • Sorry I'm so late replying! Every asthmatic has a CP of around 15, that's why you have your symptoms. You are breathing 2-3 times more than normal. Download "Escape from Asthma" on my website and start to learn how to breathe better and say goodbye to your asthma!

  • i got 10 seconds 32 milla seconds is that bad and should i go to my doctor and ask if i have asthma

  • Man I'm so glad I found this info. I have Social Anxiety and now that i am becoming more aware of things I realized that my breathing is VERY affected around other people. I had a tough day today and have been at home for a while now and feel like I am breathing comfortably but can only get to about 17 sec! I can remember times at work when I was aware of my breathing feeling very uncomfortable and noticing that I have a hard time holding my breath for 4 seconds! (after a breath in too).

  • @DannyGuitar12 practise slow shallow breathing, through the nose. When you have anxiety, you then to over breath or hyperventilate. So by reducing your breathing, you reduce anxiety.
