  • GOD BLESS YOU FOR POSTING THIS OH SO VERY BEAUTIFUL SONG(LOVED THIS SONG AS AN EIGHT YEARS OLD ) AND STILL LOVING IT AT FIFTY!!!!!..............ILE DAKUN GBA WA OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Thanks a lot for this upload. I grew up listening to this. One of my dad's favourite. The lyrics hit the conscience today even as it did then.

  • Lets cut out all this criticism and enjoy this music for what it is. Put it anywhere, historical or current context, it fits in perfectly. To those that are old enough to recognize the music and the legend behind it, enjoy the remembrance; for the younger generation please ask the elders for guidance. To the religion minded, remember we've always known God in Africa the only thing the white man brought to us is Jesus Christ. Enjoy the music.

  • saichelva1 lacks the understanding of the historical context...

  • This is nothing but otherwise great, great music, It is unfortunate that it had to be ruined by the absolutely ghaaaaaaaaaaaaaastly, juvenile and deeply iritating singing of the female backing vocal group.

I take it these are his wives who are singing.

Evan when Fela Kuti's wives sang vocals on his recordingss they they never sounded as bad as this.

  • @Babatunde. I think describing the wording as incantation is misleading. Yoruba language as in most old language speak in pictures (what is also called parables) When he say "Kaka ki Ile Ku, ise ni oma sha" This is not an incantation. It means the soil would rather become barren than die." It how the old people use their understanding of nature to explain deeper things or as analogies. But if you over use it, it would become less fertile...

  • Chief Ogunde was one of the original pioneer that set up the theatre industry in nigeria, probably all africa to what it has become today......Outstanding Job.....Rest In Peace.....GOD BLESS....

  • @iyawoolowo May I ask you what does Ogunde mean?
