@cj62392 BOTH HELLENES THEY WERE BUT RIVALS..AS WAS ACHILEUS AND AGAMEMNON BEFORE,AS WAS MENELAOS AND DIOMEDES AS ALL STATES HERE IN GREECE,STILL ARE ALWAYS WILL BE.TRY ATHENS WITH SALONICA, CHANIA IN CRETE WITH IRAKLEION IN CRETE, LARISSA WITH VOLOS.BUT IN THE END THEY ARE ALL HELLENES.AND WHEN THEY REALIZED IT WAS LATE.ROMANS TOOK HELLAS BY DIVIDE AND CONQUER.EVEN ALEXANDERS GENERALS KILLED THEM SELVES TO SPOIL THE EMPIRE.WHAT AN EMPIRE HELLAS WOULD HAVE BEEN IF NOT FOR INNER KILLING

@cj62392 WAS SYRACOUSE FOREIGN? CYRENE, PERGAMON , ALEXANDRIA....I THINK THAT IS THE MAJOR FAULT U GUYS DO , HELLAS CAOLONIES WERE MULTIPLE AND IN ALL MEDDITERANEAN...TROY CULTURE WAS THE SAME , DEITIES ,THE SAME , LANGUAGE , THE SAME, ARTS AND WARFARE , THE SAME , NAMES , THE SAME , REIGNS , THE SAME, ALL THE SAME .THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS THAT THEY WERE FROM 2 DIFFERENT HELLENIC TRIBES.....THE AIOLIANS AND THE IONIANS, AFTER THAT CAME THE DORIAN PRIDE......

@ElricMeln1 Not all the times mate.

@ElricMeln1 I know but it just seems like the Greek army wouldn't have annihilated Troy in the way they did if they truly considered them to be Greek. It's probably like immigrants in north america today. You can be Italian American because of your heritage, but you're not really Italian, you're American.

@cj62392 i know but greeks had already migrated and dispersed to minor asia prior the turning og the 2nd millenium bc!!! its higly possible to share origins with Troy!!dont forget that in ancient times Greece was not one...they were city-states with conflicts all the time...that doesnt make the foreign nations...right??
-
@ElricMeln1 I don't think so, the Trojans did have similar culture, however they were not on the Greek peninsula and considered the Greeks to be "foreign".
-
@cj62392 Trojan were another greek tribe...maybe mixed with other nations but a greek one...Same gods and customs..Trojan war was a civil war in reality...cheers
-
too bad Achilles was Greek and Hector was Trojan

Calling the Greeks "Latin" however is a horribly inaccurate statement
I think the worst historical movie i've ever seen is Troy, and Gladiator goes to the second place. They both are Holywood crap... change any of their characters for a (say) Fast and Furious or Spiderman and you'll find a perfect match. Super production and little-star hiring is all they can bluff about.

Get outta town. Gladiator's score is utterly impeccable and I still have yet to see Russel Crowe or Joaquin Phoenix pull off a better performance. Troy's not the greatest but its definitely not Hollywood crap. The casting was perfect I thought, that and Achilles is an utter badass. Regardless of the fact that he's played by Brad Pitt.

And yeah, I know they're not accurate. My teacher corrected me in class but he said it was very well made.
