This was my final presentation for my Comparitive Ethnic Studies Class taught by David Leonard at Washington State University. David is a very good teacher and the class showed the relations within food and race. We talked about slavery in cocoa, coffee, and banana industries. Also about how media shows food and its ads and how it is directly reflected in racism such as the mammy figure of Aunt Jamima.

The video is about chocolate and the slavery that goes hand-in-hand with it. I hope you enjoy and thank you for all the comments on this video.

  • it's not about who's president or his color, it's the entity known as a corporation and it's CEO's and board members who make these immoral decisions for the sake of financial gain on the back of the very poor. They destroy America and other countries with their lust for profit.

  • it's not about race, idiot.

  • Thumbs up if you're eating chocolate while watching this. :D

  • @wondergirl7322 People would be much much healthier in the West and eventually this would give West Africa some benefits to

  • Actually, Europe is the main consumer of chocolate. Its not just America. And not all chocolate is a product of slavery. If it was, it would be a lot easier to stop this. Not to say that the video is bad though. Thank you for raising awareness.

  • 12 dislikes are the people whoreally make me sick. They just no-life idiots.

  • This has killed my craving for any cheap chocolate ever again. I will save up to buy the certified fair trade kind on rare occasions. Meanwhile the world needs to know what horrors they are perpetrating as they gaily snap up the "treats" chock full of sugar and blood.

  • @humpindan thats really sad

  • I rarely eat chocolate. I will eat it even less now. Frauds.

  • OMG, I will never look at a piece chocalate candy the same now, because of this video

  • if we stop eating chocolate, experts say they will sell it for less which will make their slave conditions WORSE :'( I'm learning about this in school.
