"Shishehye Del" (meaning "Heart of Glass" in Persian)
In Persian poetry, a heart made of glass often symbolizes a fragile heart, one filled with longing. This piece is about a woman telling her story to the birds and flowers in nature, a story of longing for her beloved.
This piece was performed by Shahrzad Dance Academy (SDA), a California based Persian dance company in the U.S., founded by Shahrzad Khorsandi in 1996.
SDA performs both locally and internationally at various events such as cultural festivals, weddings, school & library educational programs, and formal concerts.
