Singer/songwriter Eddie Floyd founded the R&B group The Falcons who cut several hits during the 1950's including "You're So Fine" with Wilson Pickett part of this vocal group. After Pickett left for a solo career, Eddie signed on with Stax Records as a songwriter'producer working with the likes of Steve Cropper, Booker T. & The MG's, and once again rejoined with Wilson Pickett for whom he co-wrote "634-5789". Eddie's solo singing career began when he cut a demo of "Knock On Wood", a song which was originally intended for Otis Redding. The Stax production staff liked Eddie's version so much that they decided to release it, and in November of 1966, it went to #28. "I've Never Found A Girl (To Love Me Like You Do", was Eddie's next trip into the pop Top 40 in September of '68.
