How to Draw a Line of Best Fit

This video demonstrates how to graph points and with the points to draw a line of best fit. A line of best fit is similar to a linear regression, but drawn by a human instead of by computation as in a regression. Also, after drawing a line of best fit, the point slope form is used to find an equation for the drawn line of best fit.

what can I do other than trial and error if my line doesn't match a multiple choice answer

@xC3ll3rat3 I don't know what your data looks like or what your tools are. You might try to draw the line from each mulitple choice answer and see which one best fits the points. Pretty easy w/ a graphing calculator. Not as easy but still possible using graph paper. Aside those suggestions, depending on time, etc. available, you may have to just choose the best answer that most closely matches your line, then move on. Sometimes drawing a line of best fit seems more like art than science.
