Hotpoint 18361 Super Electronic Washing Machine

The newly re-energised 18361 on its final rinse, distribute and spin cycles.
Dont know what it is but, whenever i point a camera at my machines, it always causes imbalanced loads to kick in!
Hey ho - the machine copes well, with little fuss.

i grew up with this exact model, my mum bought it in 1983 and replaced it in 2003, the only thing that went wrong with it was the brushes, living proof they were PROPERLY MADE!

@Dazzyc84 .... yep - hotpoint motors are a bit brush hungry. apart from those, the machines were generally reliable. Properly made - absolutely!

@matchbox3236h my mum allways used to have this machine it died 4 yrs ago only thing that wen wrong with it was the brushes and the bearings had gone she then got the hotpoint ultima and that lasted 2 yrs so says it all for todays products

@kentlad83 .... for sure, the old stuff had more longevity built in to them. Glad that your mum got good service from her machine. Shame that the replacement machine wasnt quite as good.

@Dazzyc84 Can you still get these type of Hotpoints? Why can't Hotpoints be made like they used to be. They used to actually wash in water unlike the modern ones.

@1pifco ..... very rare machines now, though the occasional ones do surface on the likes of ebay. Very long lived machines, but really are thin on the ground these days.

@matchbox3236h I've got a Hotpoint ultima washer/dryer I got three years ago and the spin cycle is nearly half an hour long, not got the same character at all :/.
