The thing I always like about Deva's videos is he or his director really like to use the environment for his dance routines. So many of his videos utilize hills, terrain, water, even dust as a prop or a dance floor.

A very talented artist - with proper focus, he could have gone places like AR Rahman (Music director of Slumdog M).

Bufflax, an youtube user, got interested in the song "Kallori vanil kaintha nilavo" and made his own translation in English. The translated video was a hit. The song rhyme stood for his name and you tube users have now come to call him "Benny lava".
On the personal front, he had a difficult time marrying the dancer he loved with family's consent. He had two sons, of whom one died recently on cancer. He is a very pious and humble person.

His actual name is Prabhu Deva, hails from Chennai - South India. His dad and brothers are all famous dance masters in the Tamil (a language in south India) film industry. It is important o udnerstand that unlke English movies, Indian movies has atleast 5-6 songs weaved into the story.
PD did a couple of songs, before becoming a hero of a movie. Was immiediate hit with his dance steps and interlinked comedy. His did some 10-20 movies before moving to movie directiion. I hope that info helps.

benny lava is the main person in buffalaxed "translated" version of another video of this guy in die video. look at Crazy Indian Video...Buffalaxed.....
