This song is available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon.com . A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a Homeless Veterans support group.
A video about coming home to a jobless economy after serving their country and how the banks, who care for nothing but profits, treat our returning heroes by foreclosing. Dedicated to the homeless veterans from all wars and to the patriots of the Occupy Movement for bringing the war for veterans, home.
The single is available on iTunes and Amazon.
Lyrics:

I Can't Find My Dreams

They took my home
Sealed my fate
All alone
Empty plate
I can't cry
Nobody hears
Why should I
Waste more tears ?

When nobody out there
Speaks for me
Nobody out there
Wants to see
That I can't find my dreams
I can't find my dreams

Went to war
Fought the fight
Held the lie
Held on with all of my might
I came home
I saw the game
Those that lead
They have no shame

Why don't they stand up
And fight for me ?
Why don't they stand up
And fight for me ?
'Cos I can't find my dreams
They took away my dreams
I don't occupy my dreams
I can't find my dreams

Where's the jobs ?
Where's the hope ?
Where's the end ?
Where's the end of this rope ?
The one percent
Without a heart
Millions more
Playing the part

Why don't they stand up
And speak for me ?
Why don't they stand up
And fight for me ?
'Cos I can't find my dreams
I can't find my dreams
They've stolen all my dreams
I don't occupy my dreams
'Cos I can't find my dreams...

They've stolen all my dreams
I want to occupy my dreams

So fight for me
Fight for me...

I'd like to post it to a new online magazine that I'm connected with....let me know if you're interested!

  • @BackStageLA2007 Sandy...spread it around ! Facebook, emails, online magazines...it's all good if it spreads the message.

    Thank you.

  • This has touched my heart and I am so proud of you Scott! Amazing, you should sing this at the Center. I will forward to Erika and Jim.

  • @1spiritually I would be happy to sing this at the Center.

  • FYI there are veteran services through the VA to help. All the homeless vets just need to go to their local VA office & get the help that is there for them!! If they don't go, then it is no-one's fault but theirs!

If you see a homeless vet that needs help, please call 1-877-4AID VET (1-877-424-3838) to help get them.

As a Marine vet of OEF, I am just tired of see all the pitty excuses when there are plenty of resources for them. To me it just seems an excuse to add the name "vet" to homeless.

  • @mattsinob One final note. I also made a cryptic reference to the increase of suicide amongst our combat vets.

Some of these folks have been so brutalized by the multiple tours, they might not realize they are damaged or the ramifications of the damage.

As I country, I know we can do better for them.

  • @scottsechman I just received this email from one who can make a difference:

    Kathleen,

Early this morning, the last of our troops left Iraq.

As we honor and reflect on the sacrifices that millions of men and women made for this war, I wanted to make sure you heard the news...Today's outcome is a reminder that we all have a stake in our country's future, and a say in the direction we choose.

    Thank you.

  • @mattsinob My father is a veteran of 3 wars. He came back from his second voluntary tour of Viet Nam broken physically and emotionally. This is the man his troops called Sergeant Rock because nothing stopped him, not even the grenade that exploded at his feet. His troops still believe our nation shuns them. HE still believes we turn our back on those who served. Scott and I grew up in a huge US military installation. There are many stories, and yours is one. Not many are so happy. Bravo, Scott!

  • @mattsinob Further, I would like to thank you the information you posted and thank you for your service.

Perhaps I would ask you to listen to the song with your eyes closed. The song is an allegory. It can mean whatever you want it to mean.
